Our Story

Founded in 1987, Worldwide Friends was the only friendship group for USC internationals at that time. As an independent organization, it obtained federal and state non-profit status in 1997 and also became an official student group at USC in 2000. USC Student Officers with Dicksie Mathison and Jim Wilbar as directors accompanied by other volunteers both on and off campus lead this organization.

A Note to Our American Friends

Worldwide Friends is funded by tax-deductible donations. With your donation, you provide international students a chance to meet Americans and experience Christian love in a tangible way. Your donation assists with all the incidental expenses--buying food and Bibles, transportation, training for student leaders and volunteers, administration, and birthday cakes!

Your time would also be a wonderful gift. You could make a dish for Snack Chat or a picnic. Or join an outing to meet students and help with transportation. Pick up a student from the airport. Get to know a student by video chat in the Friendship Trek program. Pray with us!
